As a designer I’m fascinated by the world of food. Food is not just a thing to take for granted.
Food is energy, flavor, culture, heritage. There are so many ingredients to work with, ways of preparation and conservation.
I like to harvest walnuts in the city or eat my own catch of crayfish. For me it’s about going back to the origin, being independent and taking your own responsibility. Cooking with pure ingredients and make the recipe your own.
Designing to me means a lot of experimentation and research. Asking questions and looking for other possibilities.
Lydeke Bosch, 14 February 1991, grew up in a small village in the North of the Netherlands. As a child she was already fascinated by nature, especially by insects. At the age of 16 Lydeke studied Graphic Design. Graphic design was something that she’s really liked but there was something missing. She wanted to make designs that you can hold in your hands, can touch. She decided to study Product design at the University of Arts Utrecht. Many of her projects became to have a link with food. In her third year she did an internship at food design studio Katja Gruijters. After four years she graduated together with Johanna Lundberg with the cookbook “Met lupine kun je alles” and together started their own company called Lupinfood.
